Gravity's Law

2016 (United Kingdom) - Matt McDermott - Arthouse / Dance / Experimental / Poetry / Short Film

"Gravity’s Law" is a short film by Matt McDermott based on a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke. Commissioned by Channel 4 Random Acts. Inspired by Rainer Maria Rilke’s poem "Gravity’s Law", McDermott taps into themes of meditation and nature in a deliberate response to the overload of information in modern society. He was drawn to The Barbican Centre and estate because of its otherworldly quality and achieves a sense of calm with his long freefalling shots against the brutalist architecture.
